Located in Rosebank, at the heart of Johannesburg’s urban energy, Ocaso is more than a restaurant – it’s a destination.

Tasked with bringing our client’s theme of “chasing sunsets” to life, our team took on a complete turnkey journey – experiencing all the highs and lows that come with bringing a venue of this scale to life. This project demanded every facet of our expertise: from producing high-quality 3D renderings to sourcing niche local artisans, managing complex manufacturing, and navigating recent shifts in compliance and legislation. All of this was in service of the vision: a relaxed, tropical-boho oasis defined by natural materials, lush greenery, and a handcrafted warmth that feels both grounded and welcoming.

At Ocaso, greenery and lighting aren’t mere accents; they are core design pillars that tested and expanded our technical abilities. Vertical garden walls, cascading plants, and abundant natural light blur the line between inside and out. By day, sunlight streams through the space; by night, soft amber lighting transforms it into a serene, intimate environment that perfectly captures the “chasing sunsets” mood. To achieve this, we combined the skills of our own factory team with the craft of trusted local artisans and suppliers, ensuring every detail carried a personal, handmade touch.

Rich textures and natural materials set the tone, with light and dark woods, woven rattan, and soft fabrics creating an earthy, grounded atmosphere. Cane-shaded pendants, tasseled chandeliers, and backlit greenery create the depth and ambience, while feature walls glow subtly in the background. At the heart of it all, the intricately layered Corona Bar, framed in cascading plants, anchors the space, seamlessly combining brand and design.

Reflecting on the moment we unveiled Ocaso to our client, we see it as the pinnacle of our collective achievement – one made possible by the vision of our design studio, the meticulous planning and leadership of our project management team, the craftsmanship of our factory, and the unwavering dedication of every person involved.

Ocaso stands as a testament to passion, creativity, and true teamwork. This is a milestone we will not easily forget.
